Paul tells believers to watch and remain sober. Biblical watchfulness is clearheaded and steady. There are two dangerous extremes: ignoring everything and interpreting everything. One leaves us spiritually asleep; the other leaves us exhausted and anxious. Jesus calls us to remain awake without allowing every headline, crisis, or theory to steal our peace.
